Event: All-Day Knit & Crochet Along for Knitted Knockers

Join us for a heartwarming day of crafting and community as we come together to support women who have undergone a double mastectomy. We're hosting an all-day Knit & Crochet Along event, dedicated to creating knitted and crocheted prosthetic breasts for the incredible organization, Knitted Knockers LLC.

Event Highlights:

• Purposeful Crafting: Spend the day knitting or crocheting beautiful, soft, and lightweight prosthetic breasts that will be donated to women in need. Your handmade creations will provide comfort and a sense of normalcy to those who have faced the challenges of breast cancer.

• Free Patterns Available: We will provide free patterns in-store and on our website under the "Digital or Free Patterns" section, ensuring that everyone has access to the designs needed to create these special items. or click Here for patterns page

• Light Refreshments: Enjoy a selection of light refreshments as you work, offering the perfect opportunity to relax, chat, and share your knitting or crochet journey with fellow participants.

• Approved Yarn Required: To ensure the highest quality and comfort for the recipients, we ask that all participants use the approved yarn for this project. This yarn will be available for purchase in-store, or you can bring your own if it meets the required specifications. The approved yarn list is available here.

How to Participate:

• In-Store: Join us at Hangin' By A Thread for a day filled with crafting and camaraderie. We'll have dedicated spaces for knitting and crocheting, along with plenty of encouragement and support.

• Don't Know how to Crochet/Knit: you can purchase the approved yarn for our volunteers to use to make the prosthetic or help us stuff the prosthetic.

• Online: If you can’t make it in person, you can still participate by downloading the free patterns from our website and sending your completed knockers to us or directly to Knitted Knockers LLC.

Knitted Knockers are a handmade alternative to traditional prosthetics, offering a lightweight, breathable, and comfortable option for women who have had mastectomies. These beautiful items are given freely to women across the country, and by participating in this event, you’re helping to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
